Map Work Continues

I've been using the cobbled together FGD's to work on my old falaise map (now code-named dod_anvil). The flags don't work yet, I don't have enough models for objectives yet, it's not HDR-enabled yet but suspect it'll be ready for playtesting gameplay sometime today.

Here's a few screens:

Please post if your going to have a server run this for public beta testing. I'd love to help out.

Your map looks beautiful, I saw the fly-around too.

One thing I noticed is in picture 2. That Second story over hang looks like it could use some supports.

Keep up the beautiful work.

I could be wrong, but I suspect a little bloom going on in the 2nd pic?

Beautiful work you did to Falaise, it's my favorite map....yes it is! Will it be an official release?

Keep up the good work, it's much appreciated.

Thx guys...I'll have a link posted to a beta version of the map later today I think. It is a updated version of Falaise, it will probably NOT be official but the devs are helping out w/idea's and other things.

There's no HDR bloom in the map yet. I do have a updated fgd but there's no HDR SDK code released yet (compile stuff).

yarggggg I was trying to join the COJ servers and I noticed that it wouldnt let me join then I noticed that you were playing that map, I dont suppose you would put out a place where it could be dled and looked at?

Sorry just any new map at the moment would be absolutly perfect.

Wow FD! The screens look awesome! It's just beautiful. Absolutely beautiful.

Yeah. I noticed that 2nd pic also. That overhang needs some supports. Unless the main part of the building is really big, that bearing wall isn't gonna be able to support that countilever, there. I think it's 6' for every 1.5' of countilevered joists. So unless you got some magical wood, I think you'll want to put in some support ;)

Otherwise, absolutely fantastic work! I've been trying to use your "tutorial" pics to make my maps look better :)

I'd love to help playtest it!

Hey,

I just wanted to say that I loved dod_falaise on dod and i'm really looking forward to the dod_falaise remake for dod:s. It's encouraging to me to see "an old fart" like you work on maps like this. I am 27 (and I've been told several times that I'm too old to play games) and have a desire to make some maps for DoD:S. I've recently had to take a break from designing my maps because i'm going back to school to change careers. However, looking at the patience you have to make a map like this encourages me to start my map in the little time that I have... eventually, it'll get done.

Thanks!

Oh, by the way, I noticed you mentioned having the download of a beta version of the map available. Is this still the case? If so, can you point me to it since I cannot find it.

This server is running the leaked beta map:
Ministry of Peace
(IP:69.13.6.141:27015)

I asked them to but it down, they said "fuck off" and banned me.
You have to report them.

Heh, FD. You could put in your release notes to ask people not to support that server by playing on it ;)

Let them feel your wrath!

Yea...no big deal. At least they're playing it. I take solace that I can put out a beta map and people want it so bad they'll steal it. lol.
